About wood
Slovenia, a country richly endowed with forests, as more than 60% of its surface is covered with a green forest blanket. Therefore, nature has richly endowed us with this natural renewable material, wood, and it would be very sad if we were not aware of it. Wood is environmentally friendly, mitigates climate change, is a contribution towards sustainable development, offers countless possibilities for the development of innovative and also artistic products.
The use of wood in the kitchen
Wood is a natural, renewable raw material, the use of which has a beneficial effect on the environment and people, in the home at We use it for various purposes and exploit the various properties of wood. Different tree species have different color shades from white to reddish and brown to black tones. Wood can replace plastic, metal and building materials.
Sustainable consumption
We are currently consuming more resources than ever before, exceeding the planet’s capacity to produce. Meanwhile, waste and pollution increase, and the gap between rich and poor widens. All of these have a negative impact on health, education, equity and empowerment. Achieving sustainable consumption and production patterns ensures efficiency and productivity increases and ensures that human activities remain within the carrying capacity of the planet, while respecting the rights of future generations.
Sustainable development
We live in a time when the climate has changed drastically in a relatively short period of time. Some characterize this as a natural phenomenon associated with increased activity of the sun and thus increasing radiation of energy to the earth. However, it is more likely that these changes are (jointly) to blame for humans, who have disrupted the balance on Earth with their actions (economy, industry)
